Winter is coming…… no winter is here!

Hey guys, hope that all of you are enjoying a beautiful day. The weather has turned colder here but the sun is shinning bright. Yesterday as I’m sure most of you know was Yule also known as the Winter Solstice. But what does that mean. Well it means different things to different people. To some it is a time to celebrate and to some it is just the start of winter. 

Yule is a Pagan holiday that predates Christmas. It is the day that the sun god is reborn. It is also the shortest day and longest night, however we begin to have longer days until the reverse brought about by the Summer Solstice.

For many it is just the arrival of winter, and thankfully we are not talking about the winter contained in A Game of Thrones a Song of Fire and Ice. Ours will not last generations and will come to an end in a few short months as it does every year. 

Yesterday December 21, 2013 was Yule / Winter Solstice so no matter what you believe or if you celebrated or not winter has arrived and the sun is shining bright and new out of my window and the days will lengthen. I hope that you all had a Blessed Yule / Winter Solstice and are looking forward to wonderful Christmas gatherings with family and friends.
